Frequently asked questions

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbooks typically incorporate a ‘vig’ or commission into their odds, prediction markets aim to represent the true probability of an event occurring, as determined by traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources, risk assessments, and the motivations of participants in each venue. It’s common to see differences in implied probabilities between this market and sportsbook offerings, especially as the election draws nearer and new polls emerge.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information surfaces, the prices adjust, reflecting the collective wisdom of the crowd. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new data and provide a real-time assessment of the election’s potential results.

This market resolves around Oct 22, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official results announced by the relevant electoral authorities in the Czech Republic. The candidate who receives the majority of votes in the presidential election will be declared the winner, and that outcome will determine the settlement of this market. Traders should monitor official sources for the final results to understand how this market will be settled.
