Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a ‘vig’ or commission into their odds, while this market aims to represent the true probabilities as assessed by traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, risk assessments, or simply variations in the participants involved. If you find a significant difference between the odds here and those offered by a sportsbook, it could indicate an opportunity for value, depending on your own analysis of the match and the potential outcomes.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective wisdom of the crowd. The current price movement indicates how traders are reacting to news, team form, and other relevant factors influencing the potential result of the second half between the Central Coast Mariners FC and Newcastle United Jets FC.

This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the result will be based on the official second-half result as declared by the A-League authorities. The market will determine which outcome – a win for Central Coast Mariners FC, a win for Newcastle United Jets FC, or a draw – occurred during the second half of the match. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final, verified result.

Several factors could influence the trading activity in this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either the Central Coast Mariners FC or the Newcastle United Jets FC would likely cause significant shifts. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments announced by the managers, or even weather conditions on match day could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected events during the first half of the match, such as a red card or an early goal, could lead to rapid price adjustments as traders reassess the probabilities for the second half.
