In the upcoming Australia A-League game between Central Coast Mariners FC and Newcastle United Jets FC, scheduled for October 17, 2026 at 4:40 AM ET: This market will resolve based on the final score of the Central Coast Mariners FC vs. Newcastle United Jets FC match originally scheduled for October 17, 2026 at 4:40 AM ET, considering only the result at the end of 90 minutes of regulation plus stoppage time; extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market’s prices are driven purely by traders’ willingness to buy or sell based on their individual assessments. If a significant number of traders believe a particular exact score is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly. This can sometimes create opportunities for arbitrage, though it’s important to factor in fees and transaction costs when evaluating such strategies.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing different exact score outcomes, and the price of each share reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe a specific score will happen, the higher the price of shares representing that outcome will rise. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds constantly adjust to incorporate new information and changing perspectives on the match’s potential result.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official, final result of the Central Coast Mariners FC versus Newcastle United Jets FC match, specifically the exact final scoreline as recorded by the A-League's official sources. The market will then pay out to those who correctly predicted the exact score, according to the share prices at the time of resolution.
Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Central Coast Mariners FC or Newcastle United Jets FC would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments announced by the managers, or even weather forecasts predicting adverse conditions could also move the market. Unexpected pre-match lineups or any controversies surrounding the game could also trigger shifts in trader sentiment and alter the probabilities reflected on Polymarket.
