All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly express their beliefs about the probability of each exact score. Over time, prediction market prices often become more accurate than traditional odds, especially as more information becomes available and trading volume increases. However, sportsbook odds can sometimes offer value, particularly if they diverge significantly from the crowd's assessment in this market. It’s always wise to compare both to inform your decisions.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores. The price of each share reflects the market's implied probability of that score occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective belief. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is driven by supply and demand; if many traders believe a particular score is likely, they will buy shares, driving up the price, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the most up-to-date information and predictions.
This market resolves around Oct 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final, official result of the Celtic vs. Dundee United match, as reported by a recognized sports data provider, will determine the winning share(s) in this market. Any disputes regarding the official score will be resolved based on the official match records. The resolution process aims to be transparent and based on publicly available information, ensuring a fair and accurate outcome for all participants in this market.
Several factors could influence trading activity and shift prices in this market. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Celtic or Dundee United would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments announced by the managers, or even weather conditions on match day could also move the market. Unexpected news related to key players, such as a sudden illness, could also cause a shift in probabilities. Monitoring these signals and assessing their potential impact on the match outcome is crucial for informed trading in this market.
