Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly assess the probability of each exact score. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information, biases among bettors, and the incentive structures of each venue. If you find significant differences between this market and sportsbook offerings, it could signal an opportunity for value betting, depending on your own analysis.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible exact score. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective wisdom of the crowd. This dynamic pricing means the odds are constantly evolving as new information becomes available and traders update their predictions for the CD Ñublense vs. CD Coquimbo Unido match.
