Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, whereas this market allows traders to directly assess the probabilities. This can lead to discrepancies, with this market sometimes offering more favorable odds, particularly when there's strong disagreement with the wider public’s perception of the likely outcome. However, it’s important to note that both represent beliefs about the probability of an event happening.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each outcome. As more shares are traded, the price adjusts to reflect the collective wisdom of the crowd. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a 'yes' share, for example, represents the probability that CD Guastatoya will win the second half. The platform’s interface displays these probabilities as percentages, allowing users to quickly understand the current market consensus.

This market resolves around Oct 15, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be determined by which team—CD Guastatoya or Antigua GFC—wins the second half of the match. The platform will rely on official match data to verify the winner, ensuring an accurate and transparent resolution process. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result.

Several factors could influence the trading activity in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or even weather conditions could shift the perceived probabilities. Unexpected performance in the first half of the match would also likely cause significant movement. Additionally, large trades by influential market participants could create short-term price fluctuations. Monitoring these signals can help traders make informed decisions before the market resolves.
