Frequently asked questions

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective predictions of traders, potentially leading to different probabilities. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, analytical approaches, or simply varying levels of confidence in a particular outcome. It's common to see prediction markets offer more competitive odds, especially when there's significant disagreement among traders.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular result, its price increases, and the implied probability rises. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined entirely by supply and demand among traders on Polymarket, and is not influenced by external factors or a central authority setting the odds.

This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be based on which team, if any, wins the second half of the CD Concepción vs. CD Unión La Calera match. A draw will be the outcome if neither team secures a victory during the second half. The final score will be sourced from official match data to determine the winning team or a draw, ensuring a transparent and verifiable resolution process.

Several factors could influence the trading activity in this market before resolution. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or tactical adjustments announced by either CD Concepción or CD Unión La Calera could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions on match day, or even significant momentum shifts during the first half of the game, could also lead to price fluctuations. Public opinion, as reflected in sports news and analysis, might also play a role, though the market ultimately reflects the views of traders on Polymarket.
