This market focuses on predicting whether one team will dominate the other by a significant margin in the opening segment of an NHL game. It reflects the potential for early-game momentum and strategic advantages between two competing teams. The outcome depends solely on the score differential within the first period of play.
The event determines whether either Carolina or Vancouver wins the first period by more than a 1.5 goal margin. If Vancouver secures a victory with a goal difference exceeding 1.5 goals in the first period, that market resolves to Yes. Similarly, if Carolina achieves the same margin of victory in the first period, its corresponding market resolves to Yes. Both markets share identical secondary rules: overtime in the third period is excluded from consideration, and if the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original schedule time, the market remains active and resolves based on the official result. If the game is cancelled or fails to start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price.
