This event tracks whether specific players or defensive units score at least one touchdown in an upcoming football game between Carolina and Philadelphia. The outcome depends on individual player or team defensive performance in scoring plays during the full match, including any overtime periods.
All markets in this event resolve based on whether designated players or defensive units score one or more touchdowns during the entire Carolina vs Philadelphia game scheduled for October 18, 2026, including overtime. Each contract has a 'protected' designation: if a player participates in at least one play during the first half but not in any play after the first half concludes (including overtime), the contract resolves to the pre-game fair price unless the player achieves the required touchdown count, in which case it settles based on actual statistics. If the player participates in any play after the first half, the contract always settles based on actual statistics, irrespective of first-half involvement. Participation in a play nullified by penalty does not count, and a player who never participates is subject to the fair price non-participation rule. The protection mechanism applies exclusively to full-game contracts with an 'at least' payout criterion. Passing touchdowns do not count toward the passer's total, and team defense/special-teams selections are settled based solely on actual touchdowns without applying the player participation exception.
Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by analysts who consider various factors, such as team statistics and player injuries. This market, however, allows anyone to trade and express their beliefs, potentially leading to odds that diverge from those found at sportsbooks. It’s common to see prediction markets incorporate information faster than sportsbooks, especially in response to breaking news or shifts in public sentiment. Comparing the two can be a useful exercise for informed decision-making.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the probability of the event occurring. The price of a contract reflects the market's collective assessment of that probability. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the evolving consensus. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price indicates the cost to purchase a contract that pays out if the outcome is verified as true, and conversely, the amount a seller receives for taking the opposite position. The market's depth and volume provide insight into the confidence levels of traders.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on the official game statistics confirming whether the Carolina Panthers and/or Philadelphia Eagles scored one or more touchdowns during the game. The final score and official game logs will serve as the basis for determining the winning outcome. Traders will be able to see the resolution details on Kalshi once the event has concluded and the results are officially available.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before it resolves. Any news regarding key player injuries for either the Carolina Panthers or Philadelphia Eagles would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if severe weather is predicted, could also shift the odds. Unexpected coaching decisions or strategic adjustments announced leading up to the game could also move the market. Finally, any significant shifts in public sentiment, reflected in betting activity on Kalshi, could contribute to price fluctuations.
