In the upcoming EFL Championship game between Cardiff City FC and Watford FC, scheduled for October 13, 2026 at 2:45 PM ET: This market will resolve based on the final score of the Cardiff City FC vs. Watford FC match originally scheduled for October 13, 2026 at 2:45 PM ET, considering only the result at the end of 90 minutes of regulation plus stoppage time; extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the actual score is not one of the explicitly listed outcomes, the market resolves to "Any Other Score." If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows participants to directly express their beliefs about the likelihood of each exact score. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public opinion diverges from the sportsbook’s initial assessment. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate new information or adjust to changing circumstances surrounding the event.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different exact score outcomes, and the price of each contract reflects the market's current assessment of its probability. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to find an equilibrium where buyers and sellers are willing to transact. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is driven entirely by supply and demand, with no central authority setting the odds; it's a purely decentralized process reflecting the collective intelligence of the participants.
This market resolves around Oct 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final, official result of the Cardiff City vs. Watford match, specifically the exact scoreline, will be used to determine the winning contract. The resolution will be based on the official match data released by the governing football authorities and widely reported by reputable sports news sources. No further action will be required from market participants once the event concludes and the result is verified.
Several factors could influence the probabilities in this market before the match concludes. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Cardiff City or Watford would likely cause significant shifts. Tactical announcements from the managers, such as confirmed starting lineups or changes in formation, could also impact the perceived likelihood of different scorelines. Unexpected weather conditions on match day, or even late-breaking news about team morale or internal conflicts, could also contribute to movement in this market as traders react to new information.
