Description

In the upcoming NHL game, scheduled for April 29 at 7:00PM ET: If the Canadiens win, the market will resolve to "Canadiens". If the Lightning win, the market will resolve to "Lightning". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve 50-50. The result will be determined based on the final score including any overtime periods and shootouts. In the event of a shootout, one goal will be added to the winning team's score for the purpose of resolution.

PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue:

Kalshi's moneyline market contains a logical contradiction: both possible outcomes (Lightning win and Canadiens win) are specified to resolve to Yes, making the market fundamentally unresolvable. Polymarket's categorical structure is logically sound and standard for sports betting.

Hero Tip:

Avoid trading Kalshi's moneyline market until the platform issues a clarification or correction. Polymarket's moneyline and all totals/spread markets across both platforms use consistent, resolvable logic. Prioritize Polymarket for this event group.

Critical Divergence Points:

  • Kalshi:

Moneyline market uses binary Yes/No resolution but specifies both Lightning win and Canadiens win as Yes outcomes, creating logical impossibility. Quote: 'If TB Lightning wins the Game 5... then the market resolves to Yes. If MTL Canadiens wins the Game 5... then the market resolves to Yes.'
  • Polymarket:

Moneyline market uses categorical resolution (Canadiens vs Lightning) with clear mutually exclusive outcomes. Totals and spread markets use consistent goal-counting methodology. Quote: 'If the Canadiens win, the market will resolve to Canadiens. If the Lightning win, the market will resolve to Lightning.'
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms.
