These markets track how many points will be scored in the final quarter of a college football game between California and UNLV. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined during that specific period.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the California vs UNLV college football game scheduled for Oct 3, 2026. A 'Yes' outcome occurs when the combined score exceeds the specified threshold for each market. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during the 4th quarter count, and Kalshi explicitly states it is not affiliated with the NCAA.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own analysis. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or breaking news. Examining these differences can be insightful, as the market may incorporate information not fully reflected in sportsbook lines, or vice versa. Keep in mind that both represent probabilities of an outcome, but are derived through different mechanisms.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the total points scored in the 4th quarter falling below that value. For example, a contract priced at 50 means there’s an implied 50% probability of the total being under 50 points. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders adjust these prices based on their own information and expectations, creating a dynamic market that reflects collective belief. The more buyers, the higher the price, and the more sellers, the lower the price.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the California vs UNLV 4th quarter will be used to determine whether the total points scored fall above or below the contract prices. Resolution will be based on the official game statistics as reported by a trusted sports data source. Traders holding contracts on the correct side of the outcome will receive a payout of 100 per contract, minus any fees.
Several factors could influence the price of contracts in this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the California or UNLV teams would likely cause movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they might affect scoring, could also impact trading activity. In-game performance during the first three quarters, especially if one team establishes a significant lead, could shift expectations about the fourth quarter’s scoring pace. Unexpected coaching decisions or changes in game strategy could also play a role in how this market evolves.
