This set of markets tracks how many points are scored by both teams combined during a specific quarter of a college football game. The outcome depends solely on the total points scored in that quarter, regardless of which team scores them.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the third quarter of the California vs UNLV college football game scheduled for October 3, 2026. Each market has a different threshold: if the combined score exceeds the specified number (2.5, 5.5, 7.5, etc.), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Only points scored during the third quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi explicitly states it is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds tend to be more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds, as they reflect the wisdom of the crowd and incorporate a broader range of information. However, sportsbook odds are often set with a built-in margin for profit, while this market allows traders to directly bet against each other. Discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions on team performance, injuries, or other factors influencing the game. It’s common to see this market adjust rapidly to news that impacts the perceived likelihood of a particular outcome, potentially diverging from initial sportsbook lines.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the 3rd quarter of the California vs UNLV game will determine the winning contracts. The total points scored in the 3rd quarter will be compared to the market’s thresholds to determine which outcomes settle positively or negatively. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring a transparent and verifiable result for all participants in this market.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either California or UNLV would likely cause price fluctuations. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they affect the passing or running game, could also influence trader sentiment. Unexpected coaching decisions or shifts in team strategy announced before the game could also move the market. Finally, any late-breaking news related to team morale or internal conflicts could impact predictions and cause the price of contracts to change leading up to Oct 3, 2026.
