These markets track the total points scored by both teams in the second half of an upcoming college football game, including any overtime periods. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to resolve as 'Yes'.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the second half (including overtime) of the California vs SMU college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined second-half points exceed the threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored in the second half count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, trading continues and resolves based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market incorporates a broader range of information and opinions from traders. As more information becomes available – such as injury reports or weather forecasts – the prediction market price tends to adjust rapidly, potentially offering a more accurate reflection of the true probability of an outcome than traditional sportsbook odds. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events influencing the game.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the total points scored in the second half of the California vs SMU game will be tallied from official game statistics. The market will settle based on whether that total is above or below the threshold defined in the contract. The final score will be sourced from official sources and verified to determine the winning contracts in this market.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either California or SMU would likely cause a price shift. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they affect the style of play, could also influence trading activity. Unexpected announcements about coaching strategies or team dynamics might also move the market. Additionally, late-breaking news regarding referee assignments or potential rule interpretations could prompt traders to reassess the probabilities, leading to fluctuations in the price of contracts in this market.
