This market tracks which team will lead at the end of the first half in an upcoming college football game between California and NC State. It focuses solely on the performance during the initial 30 minutes of play, ignoring the final outcome of the full game. The result depends on whether California, NC State, or neither team (in case of a tie) holds the advantage at halftime.
The market resolves based on the first half outcome of the California vs NC State college football game scheduled for October 30, 2026. If NC State scores more points than California in the first half, the NC State market resolves to Yes. If California scores more points than NC State in the first half, the California market resolves to Yes. If both teams score an equal number of points in the first half, resulting in a tie, the Tie market resolves to Yes. For all markets, only points scored during the first half count. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of the original scheduled start time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the governing league, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market’s prices are driven purely by supply and demand among traders. If a significant number of people believe one team will win, the price for that outcome will increase, potentially offering a better value than what's available at a sportsbook. However, sportsbook odds incorporate factors like vigorish that aren't present in this market, so differences can arise.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market’s probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy into a particular outcome, its price rises, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust probabilities as the event approaches. The current price indicates what traders collectively believe is the likelihood of each team winning the first half.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team is leading at the end of the first half of the California vs NC State game. The official result, as determined by the game’s governing body, will be used to determine the winning contract. Any disputes or clarifications regarding the official result will be addressed according to Kalshi’s standard procedures.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the California or NC State teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team performance during recent games, coaching decisions, or even weather forecasts could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about starting lineups or shifts in public perception, as reflected in polls or expert analyses, can also contribute to price fluctuations in this market.
