Typically, prediction market odds offer a distinct perspective compared to traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring profit regardless of the outcome. This market, driven by the collective intelligence of traders on Polymarket, aims to reflect the true probability of each player winning, without an inherent profit margin. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply variations in market participants. It's often useful to compare the implied probabilities from both sources to identify potential value or mispricing.
