If either Cal Poly or Northern Colorado holds the lead after the first half, the corresponding market will resolve to Yes. If the teams are tied at the end of the first half, the Tie market resolves to Yes. Postponements that commence within 48 hours of the original start time will not affect resolution, which will instead be determined by the official result once play begins. Should the game fail to start within the 48-hour window, the market will resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during the first half count toward determining the outcome.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines due to varying information and biases. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market is driven purely by individuals predicting the outcome. Early in the market, you might see divergence, with sportsbooks potentially influenced by public perception or team reputations. As the event approaches, the odds on Kalshi tend to converge with sportsbook lines as more information becomes available and market participants refine their forecasts. However, discrepancies can still exist, offering potential value for informed traders.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing the probability of each outcome. The price of a contract directly reflects the market’s implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy contracts for a particular team, the price increases, signaling growing confidence in their chances. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth and order book are visible on the platform, allowing traders to analyze supply and demand. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures that the odds reflect the collective intelligence of all participants trading in the Cal Poly vs Northern Colorado 1st half market.
