Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often incorporating information and analysis not immediately captured by traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbooks set initial lines based on team statistics and expert opinions, this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs about the outcome. As a result, you may find that prediction market prices react more quickly to new information, such as injuries or changes in team form. It's common to see differences in probabilities, with this market sometimes offering more favorable odds than those available at sportsbooks.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether Juventus or Cagliari will score first in the second half. The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, ultimately reflecting the collective probability assigned to each outcome by market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movement is driven by traders responding to news, analysis, and their own insights, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the likely event outcome.

This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the outcome will be determined by which team—Juventus or Cagliari—scores the first goal in the second half of the match. The resolution will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout, while those holding shares in the losing outcome will forfeit their investment.

Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Juventus or Cagliari would likely cause price fluctuations. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments, or even weather conditions could also influence trader sentiment. Unexpected lineup announcements close to kickoff could also move the market. Additionally, any significant in-game events during the first half, such as a red card or early goal, could lead to substantial shifts in the odds for the second half’s first goalscorer.
