In the upcoming Primera División Argentina game between CA Vélez Sarsfield and CA Platense, scheduled for October 5, 2026 at 6:00 PM ET: This market will resolve based on the final score of the CA Vélez Sarsfield vs. CA Platense match originally scheduled for October 5, 2026 at 6:00 PM ET, considering only the result at the end of 90 minutes of regulation plus stoppage time; extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the actual score is not one of the explicitly listed outcomes, the market resolves to "Any Other Score." If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines due to differing information and incentives. Sportsbooks set odds to ensure profitability, while this market allows traders to express their own beliefs about the likelihood of each exact score. If a significant amount of money is wagered on a particular outcome, the odds will adjust accordingly, potentially moving closer to or further away from those offered by sportsbooks. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform traditional odds-makers, especially as more information becomes available.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each exact score. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the prices of these shares fluctuate, reflecting the collective intelligence of the crowd. The market’s price discovery process is driven by supply and demand for these shares, making it a dynamic indicator of expectations.
This market resolves around Oct 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final, official result of the Vélez Sarsfield vs. Platense match, specifically the exact score, will be used to determine the winning outcome. The resolution will be based on the official score reported by the governing sporting body and widely available through reputable sports news sources. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Any news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Vélez Sarsfield or Platense would likely cause shifts in the odds. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments announced by the managers, or even weather conditions on match day could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected lineup announcements or pre-match analysis suggesting a change in strategy could also lead to movement. Ultimately, any information that alters perceptions of the teams’ chances of achieving a specific exact score has the potential to move the market.
