Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is undervaluing a particular outcome, they can drive the price on Polymarket to reflect their collective insight. This can create opportunities for arbitrage or simply a more accurate representation of the true likelihood of an event, compared to traditional betting venues. It's important to compare and contrast to form your own informed opinion.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting growing confidence. Conversely, increased selling pressure lowers the price. The current top outcome, as indicated by the highest share price, is the one the market currently deems most likely. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective wisdom of the crowd.

This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result of the second half – whether Rosario Central wins, Independiente Rivadavia wins, or the half ends in a draw – will be used to determine the winning shares. The resolution will be based on the official match result as reported by a trusted sports data provider. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome will be entitled to a payout based on the final market price at the time of resolution.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before it resolves. Any news regarding team injuries, suspensions, or changes in tactics could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions or referee announcements might also play a role. Furthermore, significant shifts in public opinion, perhaps driven by pre-match analysis or expert predictions, could impact trading activity. A late surge in betting volume on Polymarket could also indicate new information or a change in perceived probabilities, leading to price movements in this market.
