Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring profit regardless of the outcome, while this market reflects the pure collective wisdom of traders. If a significant discrepancy exists between the implied probability on Polymarket and sportsbook odds, it could indicate that the market believes the sportsbook is mispricing the likelihood of a particular score. However, it’s important to remember that both represent different forms of forecasting and have their own inherent biases.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each exact score. The price of each share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a specific outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds continuously adjust to incorporate new information and changing perceptions of the match's potential result.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final, official score of the CA Progreso vs. CA Juventud de Las Piedras match is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the exact final score, including any extra time, but excluding penalty shootouts. The platform will then determine the winning outcome based on the official result, and settle the market accordingly. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will receive a payout.
Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the probabilities in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, suspensions, or changes in coaching staff could significantly impact perceptions of each team’s chances. Pre-match analysis from sports analysts, unexpected weather conditions, or even shifts in public sentiment could also drive trading volume and alter the odds. A surprising result in a related match involving either team might also cause traders to reassess their predictions, leading to movement in this market.
