This set of markets tracks how many points BYU and TCU will score together in the third quarter of their college football game. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to settle the outcome.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the third quarter of the BYU vs TCU college football game scheduled for October 3, 2026. For any market, if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, up to 27.5 points), it resolves to 'Yes'; otherwise, it resolves to 'No'. Only points scored during the third quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the outcome. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, with higher prices indicating a greater perceived chance. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are constantly adjusting their positions based on new information and their own analysis, leading to dynamic price movements. This creates a real-time assessment of expectations for the total points scored in the 3rd quarter, distinct from static odds offered elsewhere. The current price reflects the collective judgment of all participants.
This market resolves around Oct 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the total points scored in the 3rd quarter of the BYU vs TCU football game will be used to determine the winning contracts. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring an objective and transparent outcome. Traders will be able to see the final result and whether their predictions were accurate shortly after the game concludes, allowing for prompt settlement of all contracts.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either BYU or TCU would likely have a significant impact, as this could affect their offensive capabilities. Changes in weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also shift expectations regarding scoring. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first and second quarters could influence traders' beliefs about the likely 3rd quarter total. Unexpected coaching decisions or significant momentum swings could also contribute to price movements in this market.
