These markets track the total points scored by both teams in the second half of an upcoming college football game, including any overtime periods. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to resolve as 'Yes'.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined in the second half (including overtime) of the BYU vs TCU college football game scheduled for October 3, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold (ranging from 2.5 to 41.5 points); if the combined second-half points exceed the threshold, the market resolves to Yes, otherwise No. For postponements, if the game starts within 48 hours of the original time, it remains active and resolves based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored in the second half count toward these markets.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market relies on individuals freely trading based on their own information and beliefs. If a significant discrepancy exists between this market and sportsbook lines, it may indicate that the crowd perceives a different probability of a particular outcome than the sportsbook does. It's important to remember that both represent probabilities, but are derived through different mechanisms.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing the probability of the 2nd half total going over or under the specified line. The price of a contract ranges from 0 to 100, representing the implied probability of the 'yes' outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy 'yes' contracts, the price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to reflect the collective intelligence of all participants, constantly adjusting to new information and perspectives.
This market resolves around Oct 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the 2nd half of the BYU vs TCU game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official total points scored in the 2nd half, as reported by official game statistics. The market will determine whether the total points scored exceeded or fell short of the line established when the market was created. Traders holding a 'yes' contract will receive a payout if the total exceeds the line, and those holding a 'no' contract will be paid out if it falls short.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the BYU or TCU teams could significantly shift expectations. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact scoring, could also move the market. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first half, such as a dominant offensive showing by one team, could lead traders to adjust their predictions and alter the price. Public sentiment and any late-breaking analysis from sports commentators could also play a role.
