This market tracks which team will lead after the first half of a college football game between Butler and Marist. It focuses solely on the performance during the initial 30 minutes of play, ignoring the final outcome of the full game. The result depends entirely on who holds the advantage at halftime.
The market resolves based on which team is leading at the end of the first half of the Butler vs Marist college football game scheduled for November 14, 2026. If either team holds a lead after the first half, the corresponding market will resolve to Yes. If the game ends in a tie at halftime, the Tie market resolves to Yes. Postponements are permitted; if the game starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains active and resolves based on the official halftime result. If the game does not commence within 48 hours of its scheduled start time, the market resolves to a fair price. Only points scored during the first half count toward determining the outcome.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the views of many individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced a team’s chances, the prediction market odds will adjust accordingly. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster and more accurately than traditional odds as new information emerges, though discrepancies can exist due to differing incentives and market participants.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each outcome – Butler winning the first half, Marist winning, or a tie. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and place bets, the prices adjust to reflect the collective belief about the likelihood of each team winning the first half. The higher the price, the greater the implied probability of that outcome.
This market resolves around Nov 14, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the official first-half result of the Butler vs Marist basketball game will determine the winning contract. The team leading at halftime, or a confirmed tie, will be the basis for settlement. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics and results as reported by a recognized sports data provider, ensuring a fair and transparent outcome for all traders in this market.
Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Any news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Butler or Marist would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team performance leading up to the game, such as recent wins or losses, could also affect trader sentiment. Even pre-game analysis from sports commentators or updated statistical projections could move the market. Unexpected weather conditions or any other unforeseen circumstances that might affect the game’s dynamics could also introduce volatility.
