Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows traders to express their own independent assessments. Early on, sportsbook odds may be more influenced by team reputations and pre-season expectations. As the event approaches, this market may converge with sportsbook odds as new information becomes available, or it may diverge if traders identify mispricings. It is common to see discrepancies, especially for less liquid markets.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to reflect the collective wisdom of the crowd. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand for shares, and the platform facilitates this process by matching buyers and sellers.
This market resolves around Nov 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Bucks-Knicks game, as reported by a widely recognized sports data provider. The platform will verify the result against these sources to determine which outcome wins. Traders who held shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout based on the final market price at resolution.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding player injuries to key players on either the Bucks or the Knicks would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team performance, coaching decisions, or even unexpected weather conditions could also impact trader sentiment. Major shifts in public opinion, reflected in polls or analyst predictions, might also drive price changes. Unexpected announcements related to player availability or team strategy could also be catalysts for movement in this market.
