Sportsbooks incorporate a ‘vig’ or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources, analytical approaches, and the influence of public opinion. If sportsbook odds heavily favor one team, but volume in this market suggests a more balanced expectation, it could signal an opportunity for informed traders. It’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, but are derived through distinct mechanisms.

On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing potential outcomes. The price of a contract reflects the market’s collective assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect new information and changing sentiment. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movement is driven by supply and demand – if many traders believe Bucknell will win the first half, they will buy contracts, driving up the price, and vice-versa for Georgetown. This dynamic pricing mechanism aims to represent the most accurate forecast possible.

This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
