Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their risk and ensure profit, while this market is driven purely by participants’ beliefs about the event’s outcome. Initial sportsbook odds may heavily favor one team, but if a significant number of traders in this market disagree, the price will adjust accordingly. Comparing these odds can reveal discrepancies and potential value opportunities, showcasing where the crowd diverges from professional oddsmakers’ assessments of the game.
