Typically, prediction market odds reflect a different set of information and incentives than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market aims to represent the true probability of an event occurring, as assessed by traders. While sportsbooks may initially set lines based on power rankings and expert opinions, this market evolves as participants trade based on their own research and insights. It's common to see discrepancies emerge, especially as new information—like injuries or weather forecasts—becomes available, potentially offering value to informed traders.
