Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on traders directly expressing their beliefs about the likelihood of each outcome. As more information becomes available – such as team news or weather forecasts – the odds on Polymarket may converge or diverge from sportsbook lines. It's common to see prediction markets outperform traditional odds in accuracy, especially closer to the event, as traders continually refine their assessments.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe a particular team will score first, the higher the price of shares representing that outcome will climb. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective intelligence of the market participants, constantly adjusting based on new information and sentiment. The current volume indicates the level of interest and conviction surrounding each possible first scorer.
This market resolves around Nov 7, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
