In the upcoming match between Brighton & Hove Albion FC and Brentford FC, scheduled for November 8, 2026 at 9:00 AM ET: This market will resolve to "Brighton & Hove Albion FC" if Brighton & Hove Albion FC are the first to score in the first half (first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time). This market will resolve to "Brentford FC" if Brentford FC are the first to score in the first half (first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time). If neither team scores in the first half (first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time), this market will resolve to "Neither". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve to "Neither". This market refers only to goals scored within the first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time. Second-half goals, extra time, and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor names, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences in a team's or player's name will not affect resolution, provided the intended team or player can be clearly and uniquely identified as a participant in the listed fixture or competition. If a listed name has no reasonable connection to any participant, or could reasonably refer to more than one participant such that the intended team or player cannot be determined, this market will resolve as it would if the listed fixture had been canceled entirely; a listed participant who cannot be identified does not count as inactive or absent. The primary resolution source for this market will be official match information from Premier League (https://www.premierleague.com/). If the governing body or event organizers have not published final statistics within 2 hours of the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by a small team of experts, while this market aggregates insights from many individuals. Historically, prediction markets have demonstrated an ability to be more accurate than traditional polls or even expert forecasts, though outcomes are never guaranteed. Comparing the implied probabilities from both sources can be a useful exercise when forming your own opinion.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether Brighton or Brentford will score first in the first half. As more shares are purchased for a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share directly corresponds to the perceived likelihood of that outcome occurring, providing a dynamic and real-time assessment of expectations. The current top outcome, according to Polymarket, has a chance percentage of 49.0%.
This market resolves around Nov 8, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team, Brighton or Brentford, was the first to score during the first half of the match. The outcome will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Brighton or Brentford would likely cause significant shifts in the odds. Changes in team formations or tactical approaches announced before the match could also impact expectations. Even general news about team morale or recent performance could sway traders. Unexpected weather conditions on match day might also be a factor, potentially altering the style of play and influencing scoring opportunities.
