Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of participants, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market aggregates the views of many individual traders. It's common to see discrepancies between the two, especially before a significant amount of trading occurs. However, as more volume flows into this market, the odds tend to become more aligned with those offered by sportsbooks, assuming both are efficient in their price discovery. Examining these differences can be a valuable exercise for informed forecasting.

On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders can buy 'yes' shares if they believe Brighton and Crystal Palace will have 11 or more total corners, or sell 'no' shares if they disagree. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, directly reflecting the crowd's assessment of the probability. As more people buy 'yes' shares, the price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures that the market odds continuously adjust to incorporate new information and changing sentiment. The current price represents the market's consensus forecast.

This market resolves around Oct 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final corner count for the match between Brighton and Crystal Palace will be used to determine whether the total exceeds 10 corners. Official match data will serve as the basis for verification. Traders holding 'yes' shares will receive a payout if the condition is met, while those holding 'no' shares will lose their investment. The resolution process is designed to be transparent and based on objectively verifiable data.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding key players for either Brighton or Crystal Palace – such as injuries or suspensions affecting their attacking style – could shift expectations. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if strong winds are forecast, might impact the number of corners awarded. Tactical approaches adopted by both managers during the match, especially if they emphasize wing play, could also play a role. Finally, significant betting activity or large trades on Limitless itself can cause noticeable price movements in this market.
