Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set their lines based on their own analysis and to balance betting action, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is mispricing a player's chances, the prediction market odds will likely move in the opposite direction. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before a lot of money has been traded on Polymarket.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of a particular outcome.
