In the upcoming Premier League game between Brentford FC and Nottingham Forest FC, scheduled for October 31, 2026 at 11:00 AM ET: This market will resolve based on the halftime score of the Brentford FC vs. Nottingham Forest FC match originally scheduled for October 31, 2026 at 11:00 AM ET, considering only goals scored within the first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time; second-half goals, extra time, and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket, offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while prediction markets aim to represent the true probabilities as assessed by traders. This can lead to discrepancies, particularly when there's strong public sentiment or differing expert opinions. While sportsbooks may initially favor one outcome, this market allows for a more nuanced view, reflecting the wisdom of the crowd. It’s common to see prediction market probabilities adjust more rapidly to new information than sportsbook odds.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where users buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible first-half exact score. The price of each share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective assessment of the event's likelihood. The market isn't based on any single analyst's prediction but rather the aggregated views of all participants. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds are constantly updated and responsive to new information and changing sentiment.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the official first-half score of the Brentford FC versus Nottingham Forest FC match will be used to determine the winning share(s). The resolution will be based on the official result as reported by a recognized sports data provider. This ensures a transparent and objective determination of the outcome, aligning with the established standards for sports event verification. Traders will be able to claim their winnings once the result is finalized and confirmed.
Several factors could influence this market before the end of the first half. Any late-breaking news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Brentford FC or Nottingham Forest FC would likely cause significant shifts in probabilities. Unexpected changes in weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also impact the perceived likelihood of certain scorelines. Furthermore, early game events, like a quick goal or a red card, will immediately and dramatically affect trading activity and the implied probabilities within this market. Any significant momentum swings during the first half will also be closely watched by traders.
