Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and incorporate a profit margin, while this market is driven by the collective predictions of traders. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by betting on both the prediction market and a sportsbook. However, it's important to remember that prediction markets are forward-looking and can incorporate information not yet reflected in sportsbook odds, such as potential injuries or changes in player form.
