Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess probabilities. This can lead to differences, particularly when public sentiment strongly favors one outcome. If a large number of people believe a certain player will win, the price on Polymarket may shift to reflect that belief, potentially offering different value compared to sportsbook odds. It’s important to compare both to gain a comprehensive understanding of the perceived probabilities.
