Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess probabilities. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly disagrees with the sportsbook's initial assessment. It’s common to see this market exhibit higher accuracy than sportsbook odds, particularly when a large number of informed traders participate. However, sportsbook odds can still provide a useful benchmark for comparison.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, reflecting growing confidence. Conversely, selling pressure drives the price down. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective wisdom of the crowd participating on Polymarket and provides a real-time assessment of the potential result of the Braga doubles match.

Unexpected results in other matches involving these players might also lead to adjustments in the perceived probabilities. Furthermore, large trading volume from informed participants could trigger price swings.
