Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, however, is driven by the collective predictions of traders, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities, especially as the event approaches. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, this market dynamically adjusts based on real-time information and the wisdom of the crowd. It's common to see differences emerge as new information becomes available.
On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders can buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the market's current assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders set the odds by placing bids and asks, and the market price converges as more trades are executed. Factors influencing price include team form, injuries, and public sentiment, all reflected in the collective actions of traders on Limitless. The current volume of $971 indicates the level of participation.
