Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market represents the collective wisdom of individuals trading on their own beliefs. You may find that this market’s odds diverge from sportsbook lines due to differing information or interpretations of team strengths and weaknesses. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts leading up to the game.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective prediction of the crowd. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price converges towards what the market believes is the true probability of each outcome. The current price indicates the implied probability of a particular result, allowing traders to assess value and make informed decisions.
