On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular candidate, the price increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand; there are no external factors influencing the pricing process. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly adapt to new information and changing perceptions.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official results announced by the relevant electoral authorities in the Czech Republic. The candidate who receives the most votes in the presidential election will be declared the winner, and that outcome will determine the settlement of this market. Traders who correctly predicted the winning candidate will receive a payout based on the odds at the time of their trade. The exact payout amount will depend on the final probabilities established on Polymarket.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market before it resolves. Major developments in the campaigns of the candidates, such as significant policy announcements or unexpected endorsements, could shift trader sentiment. Public opinion polls released in the lead-up to the election will likely have an impact, as will any major political events or scandals involving the candidates. Economic news or international developments that affect the political landscape could also play a role. Unexpected debate performances or gaffes by either candidate could also cause substantial shifts in the probabilities reflected in this market.
