Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from those offered by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often set initial odds to balance their risk, incorporating a profit margin, while this market is driven purely by traders’ beliefs about the likelihood of each exact score. If a significant discrepancy exists between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds, it might suggest that the market perceives information differently than bookmakers, or that one venue has identified a mispricing opportunity. It’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, but are formed through different mechanisms.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different exact score outcomes. The price of each share directly reflects the market’s probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular result, its price increases, indicating a higher perceived likelihood. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s overall volume and trading activity influence price discovery, and the platform’s interface provides real-time updates on these probabilities, allowing traders to react to new information and adjust their positions accordingly.
This market resolves around Nov 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final, official result of the Botafogo FR vs. CA Mineiro match is verifiable from credible public reporting. The exact score at the end of regulation time will determine the winning outcome in this market. Any extra time or penalty shootouts will not be considered. Traders who correctly predicted the exact score will be paid out according to the final probabilities established on Polymarket prior to resolution.
