These markets track the total points scored by both teams during the second quarter of a college football game. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to resolve as 'Yes'.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams specifically during the second quarter of the Boston College vs Georgia Tech college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve according to the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Each individual market has a unique threshold for the total points needed to resolve as 'Yes', ranging from more than 2.5 points to more than 27.5 points. Only points scored in the second quarter count toward any market resolution.
Prediction market odds often reflect a different kind of wisdom than sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market represents the aggregated predictions of informed traders. It’s common to see discrepancies, as prediction markets can be more sensitive to nuanced information and less prone to biases found in traditional betting. Polls and analysts’ predictions often align more closely with prediction market probabilities than with sportsbook lines, as both attempt to forecast based on underlying probabilities rather than balancing books.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the event occurring – in this case, the 2nd quarter total being over or under a specified number. As more traders buy 'yes' contracts, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived probability. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts to new information and trader sentiment, providing a real-time assessment of expectations for the game's 2nd quarter.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the 2nd quarter of the Boston College versus Georgia Tech game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics, and the market will pay out to those who correctly predicted whether the total score would be over or under the relevant threshold. The final result will be determined by the official game data available immediately following the conclusion of the 2nd quarter.
Several factors could influence this market before it resolves. News regarding key player injuries for either Boston College or Georgia Tech would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest a high-scoring or low-scoring game, could also shift trader sentiment. Even in-game performance during the 1st quarter – for example, a dominant offensive showing by one team – could lead to adjustments in the perceived probability of a high or low 2nd quarter total. Any late-breaking news related to team strategy or coaching decisions could also play a role.
