This market focuses on how much Georgia Tech could outscore Boston College in a single quarter of an upcoming college football game. Specifically, it tracks whether Georgia Tech achieves a significant point differential advantage over Boston College during the second quarter.
The market resolves based on the point differential between Georgia Tech and Boston College exclusively during the second quarter of their college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. If Georgia Tech wins by more than the specified point margin (10.5, 7.5, 6.5, 3.5, or 2.5 points), the respective market resolves to Yes. Conversely, if Boston College wins by more than the specified margin (2.5, 3.5, 6.5, 7.5, or 10.5 points), those markets resolve to Yes. Only points scored in the second quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own analysis and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading based on their own information and beliefs. As more people trade, the price tends to converge towards what traders collectively believe is the true probability of each outcome. It’s common to see discrepancies, particularly before significant events or when new information emerges, offering potential value for informed traders.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads for the second quarter. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that spread occurring, as determined by supply and demand. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as they profit if their predictions are correct. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movement is dynamic and responds to new information and changing sentiment among traders, creating a real-time assessment of the likely outcome.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final second-quarter spread of the Boston College versus Georgia Tech football game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result reported by the governing body of college football. The final spread, as determined by official sources, will dictate which contracts pay out and at what value. Traders holding contracts on the correct spread will receive a payout, while those holding contracts on incorrect spreads will not.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Boston College or Georgia Tech teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favoring one team's style of play, could also impact trading activity. Additionally, late-breaking news about team strategy or coaching decisions could shift perceptions and affect the price. Finally, even general public sentiment and betting trends observed elsewhere could create momentum in this market.
