These markets evaluate various scoring thresholds for the second half of a college football game between Boston College and Duke. Each threshold represents a different level of scoring performance that must be exceeded for the market to resolve positively. The outcomes depend solely on the points scored after halftime, including any overtime periods.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the second half (including overtime) of the Boston College vs Duke college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined second-half points exceed the threshold (e.g., 2.5, 6.5, 9.5, etc.), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored in the second half count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, trading remains open and resolves based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin. This market, driven by the wisdom of the crowd on Kalshi, aims to reflect the true probability of the event occurring, without an inherent profit margin for the venue. While sportsbooks may initially set lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, this market dynamically adjusts as more information and opinions are incorporated through trading activity. It's common to see differences emerge as the event approaches.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning buyers and sellers set the price based on their own predictions. Traders can buy 'Yes' contracts if they believe the total points scored in the 2nd half will exceed 9.5, or sell 'Yes' contracts if they believe it will not. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a contract represents the probability of that outcome occurring, with higher prices indicating a greater perceived likelihood. As more traders participate, the price converges towards what the market believes is the true probability, reflecting collective intelligence about the game.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the second half of the Boston College versus Duke basketball game will determine whether the total points scored exceed 9.5. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, as reported by a trusted sports data source. Traders holding 'Yes' contracts will receive a payout if the total points exceed 9.5, while those holding 'No' contracts will receive a payout if the total points are 9.5 or less.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Boston College or Duke would likely have a significant impact, as it affects the potential scoring output. Changes in weather conditions, if the game is played outdoors, could also play a role. Additionally, in-game performance during the first half – such as a team experiencing a shooting slump or a dominant performance – could shift trader sentiment and move the market. Finally, any late-breaking news or analysis regarding team strategies or matchups could also affect trading activity.
