This set of markets focuses on predicting the margin of victory for either Boston College or Duke in the second half of their college football matchup. Each market corresponds to a specific point differential threshold that must be exceeded by the winning team during the second half, including any overtime periods.
The markets resolve based on the point difference by which either Boston College or Duke wins the second half (including overtime) of the college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if Duke wins the second half by more than the stated margin, the corresponding 'Duke wins by over X points' market resolves to Yes; if Boston College wins the second half by more than the stated margin, the corresponding 'Boston College wins by over X points' market resolves to Yes; otherwise, the market resolves to No. All markets consider only points scored during the second half and overtime of that half. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market is driven by individuals freely trading based on their own analysis. This often leads to prediction markets being more accurate, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available. However, sportsbook odds can sometimes offer value, and comparing them to the probabilities reflected in this market can be a useful exercise for informed decision-making.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final point spread of the second half of the Boston College versus Duke basketball game will be used to determine which contracts pay out. The resolution will be based on the official result as reported by a trusted sports data source, ensuring a fair and accurate settlement of all contracts traded in this market.
Several factors could influence the BC-Duke 2nd half spread between now and resolution. Key injuries to star players on either team would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team performance during the first half of the game, or even pre-game news regarding lineup changes or coaching strategies, could also shift the market. Unexpected weather conditions, although less likely for an indoor basketball game, could also play a role. Any significant news impacting public perception of either team’s chances will be reflected in the trading volume and price action of this market.
