Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can sometimes differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own insights. If there’s a significant discrepancy, it may indicate that the crowd believes a sportsbook has mispriced the probability of a particular outcome. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, and neither is guaranteed to be perfectly accurate. It’s always wise to compare both to form your own informed opinion.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether Bosnia and Herzegovina or Poland will score first. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, the price of those shares increases, reflecting a higher probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. The market dynamically adjusts as new information becomes available and traders update their assessments, creating a real-time probability forecast.

This market resolves around Oct 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on which team is officially recorded as scoring the first goal in the Bosnia and Herzegovina vs. Poland match. Official sources, such as sports news outlets and the governing body’s official website, will be used to determine the definitive result. The market will then settle, and traders will receive payouts based on the final outcome and their positions in the market.

Several factors could influence the trading activity in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or even weather conditions could shift the perceived probabilities. Unexpected announcements about team strategy or changes in coaching staff could also have an impact. Furthermore, general sentiment and public opinion, as reflected in social media and sports news, can influence trading behavior. A strong performance by either team in a preceding match could also lead to increased confidence and a corresponding shift in the market.
