Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to profit by balancing action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe a particular exact score is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the price will move accordingly. It's common to see discrepancies, especially when public opinion strongly deviates from the sportsbook's initial assessment of the Boreham Wood vs. Hartlepool match.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores, and the price of each share reflects the market's current assessment of that score's probability. As more shares are traded, the price adjusts to find an equilibrium point where buyers and sellers agree. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by new information, changing opinions, and overall trading volume, creating a dynamic and responsive market for predicting the final result of the match.
