Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a more accurate aggregate forecast than traditional sportsbook odds. This is because prediction markets incentivize participants to reveal their true beliefs, while sportsbooks may incorporate biases or a profit margin into their pricing. While sportsbooks set odds based on their analysis and perceived risk, this market allows a wider range of participants to contribute to the price discovery process. However, discrepancies can occur due to differing levels of information and market efficiency between the two. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate new information.
