This market tracks which team will score more points in the second half of a college football game between Boise State and Fresno State. It focuses solely on the performance during the latter portion of the match, ignoring the first half's outcome. The result hinges on the points each team accumulates from the start of the third quarter onward, including any overtime periods.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points in the second half (including overtime) of the designated Boise State versus Fresno State college football game. If Fresno State outscores Boise State in the second half, the Fresno State market resolves to Yes. Conversely, if Boise State outscores Fresno State in the second half, its market resolves to Yes. If both teams score an equal number of points in the second half, the Tie market resolves to Yes. For postponements, if the game commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, the market remains active and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within this 48-hour window, the market resolves to a fair price. All outcomes depend exclusively on second-half scoring, with no consideration given to the first half's performance.
Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. Discrepancies can arise from differing information sources, varying levels of expertise among market participants, and the influence of public sentiment. If there’s a significant difference between the implied probability in this market and sportsbook odds, it might indicate an opportunity for arbitrage or a disagreement about the likely outcome of the second half.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome – in this case, Boise St. winning the second half or Fresno St. winning the second half. The price of each contract reflects the market’s collective belief about the probability of that outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust, providing a real-time assessment of the likelihood of each team securing the second half victory. The current price indicates what traders are willing to pay for a contract that pays out if their predicted outcome occurs.
This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team has the higher score at the end of the second half of the Boise St. vs Fresno St. game. Any overtime periods will not be considered when determining the winner. The official game results, as reported by a recognized sports data provider, will serve as the basis for determining the winning outcome in this market.
Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Key injuries to star players on either Boise St. or Fresno St. would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they favor one team’s playing style, could also move the market. Unexpected news regarding team morale or coaching decisions could also play a role. Finally, any significant shifts in public perception, perhaps driven by pre-game analysis or expert predictions, could influence trading behavior and alter the probabilities reflected in this market.
