If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely adjust probabilities based on their own analysis and information. If a significant number of traders believe a particular outcome is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the price will move accordingly. It's common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public opinion shifts leading up to the event.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing different exact score outcomes, and the price of each share reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price fluctuates based on supply and demand; if more people buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing allows the market to aggregate information and provide a forecast of the final score.
This market resolves around Oct 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final result of the Birmingham City vs. Preston match, specifically the exact score, will be used to determine which shares pay out. The resolution will be based on official match data, ensuring an objective and transparent process. Traders should monitor official sources for the confirmed final score to understand the resolution of this market.
Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or tactical adjustments could significantly impact perceived probabilities. Unexpected weather conditions on the day of the match, or even pre-game comments from managers, could also shift market sentiment. Furthermore, major events in the broader football landscape, such as upsets in other matches, might indirectly affect trading activity and the overall pricing of this market.
