This market tracks which team will lead after the first half of a college football game between Bethune-Cookman and Mississippi Valley State. It reflects the competitive performance of both teams in the initial 30 minutes of play. The outcome depends solely on the points scored during the first half, regardless of the final game result.
The market resolves based on which team leads at the end of the first half of the designated college football game. If Mississippi Valley State scores more points than Bethune-Cookman in the first half, the market resolves to Yes for the Mississippi Valley State outcome. Conversely, if Bethune-Cookman scores more points than Mississippi Valley State in the first half, the market resolves to Yes for the Bethune-Cookman outcome. If both teams are tied at the end of the first half, the market resolves to Yes for the Tie outcome. For any game postponements, if play commences within 48 hours of the original scheduled start time, the market remains active and resolves based on the official first-half result. If the game does not start within this 48-hour window, the market resolves to a fair price. Only points scored during the first half count toward the resolution, and Kalshi disclaims any official affiliation with the governing league or ownership of associated trademarks and branding.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and attempt to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe one team is more likely to win the first half than sportsbooks suggest, the price for that outcome will rise, potentially offering better value than available at a sportsbook. However, discrepancies can also occur due to differing risk assessments and market dynamics.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether Bethune-Cookman will win the first half. The price of a contract ranges from 0 to 100, representing the probability of that outcome. As more traders buy contracts for Bethune-Cookman, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth and order book are visible on the platform, allowing traders to assess the available liquidity and potential price movements. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective intelligence of the market participants.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be determined by the official score at the end of the first half of the Bethune-Cookman vs Mississippi Valley St. game. The platform will verify the result against official sources to ensure accuracy. Any adjustments or corrections to the official score will be reflected in the market resolution. Traders holding contracts on the winning side will receive a payout of 100 minus the price they paid.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before the game concludes. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Bethune-Cookman or Mississippi Valley St. could significantly shift expectations. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they favor one team’s playing style, could also impact the market. Furthermore, any significant public endorsements or analyses predicting a first-half winner could sway trader sentiment and cause price fluctuations. Unexpected line movements in traditional sportsbooks may also prompt adjustments in this market.
